Voltage Li-Pol cell is 3.7V (unlike 1.2V NiCd and NiMH batteries). During operation it should in no case exceed 4.2V for cell voltage during charge and fall below 3V. Exceeding these values probably leads to irreversible damage of the battery. In normal operation, the voltage (before you start charging the battery) should not fall below 3.5V. If you find before charging that voltage is lower, batteries are discharging excessively.
For this reason, it must be used to charge the special battery charger for Li-Pol batteries, as well as use special protective circuit (Alarm Li-Pol), which alerts you to critical battery discharge.
Protect cells against damage - trance electrodes, puncture. In case of damage of cell can cause to internal short circuit with explosion and fire.
